Volunteer Translators Needed for Christian Ministry
Heavenly Manna ministries is looking for volunteer translators to translate Christian articles and Bible studies on topics rarely dealt with from a biblical perspective. Most of the content to be translated is 400 - 800 word articles; and we ask volunteers for two hours of their time per month. An experienced translator can translate an article in less than, or within two hours, which equals about one translation per month.
Target and Source Languages
Currently, most of our content is in United States English. However, we have a sizeable and growing database of articles and study materials in Latin American Spanish. We also publish in French, German, and Italian. Volunteer translators must speak, read, write and understand college-level English or Spanish, which are the languages of communication within Heavenly Manna.
Our material in English, Spanish, German, and French was either originally written in those languages or translated by an experienced translator into or from the language. Most of our content that has been translated into Italian is a machine translation. Therefore, the majority of our Italian articles contains some errors. These translations, though not perfect, certainly are accurate enough to be read and fully understood by native speakers of the Italian language. Our passion is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus as far and as wide, and to as many people as possible. This is why we decided to go ahead with the machine translations for Italian.
This does not mean, however, that we don't want the same perfection for our content in Italian as we have for our content in the other languages. This is why we are in need of dedicated, skilled, and experienced volunteer translators not only for Italian, but for all of the languages with which we work. This will allows us to greatly speed up the publication of in-depth, and eye-opening Christian articles and Bible studies.
Following is a list of the language pairs/combinations for translations:
1. English > Spanish
2. English or Spanish > French
3. English or Spanish > German
4. English or Spanish > Italian
5. English or Spanish > Portuguese
6. English or Spanish > other language/s as we expand
Please note the following dialects we need for each language:
1. English - United States or British
2. Spanish - Latin American
3. French - "Standard" (France)
4. German - n/a
5. Italian - n/a
6. Portuguese - n/a
7. Arabic - Egyptian
Volunteer translators with Heavenly Manna receive full credit for their work, because we display the name of the translator at the end of his or her work. Also, we will be happy to serve as a professional reference after the completion of at least three acceptable translations. Material translated into Spanish and French is reviewed for accuracy by at least one translator of Heavenly Manna.
Translations into Italian and Portuguese, for the most part, consist of simply "cleaning up" the machine translations we've already published. All volunteer translators, after completing three works, have the option of publishing a brief bio/profile under the About Us section of our site. If you are growing a translation business, we will provide a link to your translation business website, or contact information (excluding an email address due to the threat of spam).
Also, please note that because no member of the team of Heavenly Manna can read German or Arabic, all translations into these languages must be translated back into English or Spanish. This allows us to verify that not even subtle changes have ocurred. Consequently, translations into these or any other language that we cannot read require at least two translators. If we do not have at least two on board, we cannot proceed.
Our most urgent need at the moment is for volunteer translators to translate from English or Spanish into Italian or French. However, we are always interested in expanding to include publicaton into all languages.

Thank you for your feedback. We CANNOT afford the great expense that it is to send books free of charge. That is extremely expensive, especially when we receive multiple requests to do so. We have published almost 1,000 articles and Bible studies and made them freely available at our website for all of the world. Our website is the ONLY free source of Christian material we offer. We are a small ministry made up entirely of volunteers, NOT paid employees. So, we cannot be expected to send funds. You might want to contact In Jesus' Name Ministries for that.
