Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
When we speak of almond milk nutrition, we are speaking of the varieties of milk from almonds that are sold in many grocery stores across the United States. More and more people have chosen to abandon dairy products and consume instead milk made from almonds. It's wise to be informed about the benefits of almond milk nutrition, if you have made the switch. The following is based on the average amounts of nutrients available in store-bought almond milk, which is based on the consumption of one cup and the recommended daily allowance (RDA):
Vitamin A - 10%
Calcium - 30%
Vitamin D - 25%
Riboflavin - 2%
Magnesium - 4%
Zinc - 2%
Phosophorous - 4%
Vitamin E - 50%
Iron - 4%
The above listing is based on the fortification of almond milk, as well as on the naturally occurring nutrients. In the ingredient list of almond milk, we almost always see vitamin D, E, and the mineral calcium added in the form of: tricalcium phosphate, vitamin D2, and D-Alpha Tocopherol acetate. As we can see, almond milk nutrition offers as much calcium as cow milk, which is the concern of many people who are searching for a milk substitute.
Calcium, being one of the minerals so important for healthy bones and teeth, is a very important nutrient with which almond, and other milk substitutes are fortified. Many people with respiratory diseases such as asthma, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have been advised by their physician to either cut milk completely out of their diet or to at least replace it with skim milk.
Some brands of unsweetened almond milk look and taste very much like one percent milk. And, more and more people are adjusting to the taste difference between whole milk and skim, and part skim milk. So, for those who are convinced that milk, including skim milk, and other dairy products produce mucous, and have decided to totally leave animal milk, there's good news. Almond milk nutrition is considered equal to cow and goat milk nutrition by many people, including dieticians.
If you choose to switch to almond milk, you can use it just like you use skim, one, or two percent cow or goat milk. This means that you can use it for cold cereal, for enjoying milk and cookies, bake with it, and even cook with it the same as with cow milk. Some people enjoy hot oatmeal that is cooked in milk rather than water. The milk adds nutrition and a much more hearty taste. Likewise, almond milk nutrition can be added to a meal of oat meal when the oats are cooked in the milk.
Despite the nutritional benefits of almond milk, doctors do NOT recommend it as a substitute for breast milk or baby formulas.
Based on true events, The Third Man by Angela Sheffield, brings the Bible up close and personal as the characters face real issues of life: Betrayal, deceit, romance, bitterness, anger against God, hopelessness, will power, perplexity, triumph, unforgiveness, mental illness, and the "Alcohol made me do it" excuse.
