Baby Formulas and Risks of Formula Feeding
Babies Without Baby Formulas
What are the people to do who have learned of the risks of formula feeding and have given up their use? Should they be in a panic if, for some reason, breast feeding is not an option? Why should they? Baby formulas are an invention of the modern world; babies, however, have existed since Eve began having children outside of the garden of God (Eden). Down through the ages, babies all over the world have thrived without being fed man-made baby formulas even when they could not receive breast milk. Modern parents would do well to question the motivation behind expensive laboratory-produced baby formula when God has provided free breast milk and free or economical alternatives to breast milk.
Are Risks of Baby Formula Real?
Among the health problems in infants and children who are/were nourished on baby formulas are ear infections, respiratory disorders, diarrhea, constipation, and allergies. While such health problems are not new to babies, the greatly increased frequency and severity of such problems in babies born in the United States is a modern problem, not an old one. Should all of these health issues be associated with the risks of formula feeding? Not necessarily; but if baby formulas are being used, they probably should be suspected even if the label reads, "organic" or "all natural."
According to the web site of Moms and Pops Project (MaPP), risks of formula feeding exist because of the contaminants in baby formulas. Some of those contaminants come from the ways in which the products are processed. Babies run the risk of being exposed to aluminum, lead, cadmium, residue from man-made fertilizers and pesticides, monosodium glutamate (MSG), aspartic acid, and aflatoxin, which are just some of the dangerous substances that have been detected in baby formulas. Residue from fertilizers and pesticides, and aflatoxin, are carcinogens (cancer-causing agents). Dangerous levels of cadmium have been linked to problems with development, especially of the reproductive system. Also, there is the fact that man never has, and never will be able to copy the works of the Creator. For example, scientists have developed a synthetic form of the natural docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) found in breast milk. However, their synthetic form does not do for babies what God's DHA in breast milk does.
What About Soy Milk Formulas?
Some parents have switched to the use of soy milk baby formulas to eliminate allergic reactions. However, soybeans are one of the foods with which genetic engineers have tampered. Sometimes an allergy to soy is not an allergy at all, rather a reaction of rejection of what was not made by God (heirloom). Among the risks of formula feeding with soy-based products is premature puberty in girls, and abnormal thyroid gland activity.
Parents of Old
Before the invention of expensive and potentially dangerous baby formulas, mothers who could not breast feed resorted to other food sources for their babies. Sometimes a wet nurse was employed, and sometimes the milk of a goat served as food. More modern choices included using evaporated milk which they sweetened with a natural sweetener such as blackstrap molasses, a food rich in iron and so needed by girl babies. NEVER feed honey to an infant!s The label on cans of evaporated milk might say that the product is not to be used as a baby formula. Labels on baby formulas, however, say nothing about potential health risks for the little people who consume them.
One can of evaporated milk mixed with 1 to 1 1/2 cans of water and sweetened with a tablespoon of blackstrap molasses or sorghum is often a healthier and more economical choice to avoid the risks of formula feeding.
