Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Understandably, many people are confused regarding the marked differences between Sikhism beliefs and Christian beliefs, because the two doctrines do appear to have much in common. One of the simplest ways to quickly see that Sikhism and Christianity do not share the same foundation is by looking at the teachings of both sides. Therefore, we present an eye-opening comparison below.
Based on true events, The Third Man by Angela Sheffield, brings the Bible up close and personal as the characters face real issues of life: Betrayal, deceit, romance, bitterness, anger against God, hopelessness, will power, perplexity, triumph, unforgiveness, mental illness, and the "Alcohol made me do it" excuse. Hi, thank you for writing such descriptive thesis on how two religions are different. when followers such as author of this article, and someone who has with pride published the on the internet, is the reason why there is hatred and fights in the world.
This article is an absolute insult to sikhism and I believe this not what christianity or other religions promote.
What are the good points of sikhism?? are you joking? with your very limited understanding and most of it wrong anyway, I have found this article much of a joke. Please read up on sikhism and have your facts correct. to call another religion antichrist because of not supporting christianity, or jesus? Ha, so funny!!!
sikhism to do not promote fighting with swords for religion!!! Sikhism teaches to fight for injustice and to stand up for the poor and helpless.
please stop expanding differences and hatred in the name of religion. you know what, God is ONE.. hindu, islam, sikhism, judaism, and christianity, all have ONE GOD. Only the messengers for them were different, so people could relate better. whoever authored and published this content has been silly and does not know anything about humanity forget religion! silly nincompoop!!!!

Your problem is NOT with the author of the article, it is with the Word of God, because God says, "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath NOT the Father..." (KJV, 1 John 2:22-23)." That is God's Word, not ours. YOU confirmed in your comments that Sikhism does NOT support Jesus, which is the same thing the article says. Where is the inaccuracy? Also, Jesus said, "He that is not with me is AGAINST me" (Mat. 12:30). Again, YOU confirmed that followers of Sikhism are NOT with Jesus. Therefore, YOU confirmed the accuracy of the article. Attempting to call hatred what is truth and fact will not change the truth that the God behind the scriptures of the Holy Bible is NOT the god behind other religions. That's why they are OTHER religions; it's not a hard concept to grasp. Consider that the Koran orders the killing of Jews and Christians. The Bible says the exact opposite. How can you or anyone else deny the reality that the spirit behind the Koran is NOT the Spirit behind the Bible? You have not proven that anything said in the article is untrue or inaccurate. In fact, you confirmed accuracy. You simply don't like the Word of God. We pray one day before you leave this world that you receive the Word of the one before whom "EVERY knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord" (Romans 14:11).

I do not want to start or enter into any religious arguments.
I will state this that this article is written with a biased mindset. The information provided here is incorrect and incomplete.
Spreading misinformation is worse than knowing nothing!
Have a nice day!

This article is indeed erroneous, regarding both the Christian and Sihk side of things.
To start with, the Sikhs do believe in the same God as Christians, Muslims, etc - they simply don't believe he has a son.
Then, Sikhs are against violence, and only use it as a last resort; as do Christians. In reply to your comment, where you state that the Koran orders the killing of people of other religions, may I point to the Bible, which orders the death of those who are not Christians? Have a look at Deuteronomy 13, just as one example.
It is not a comparison of Sikhism and Christianity if you quote the Bible and say it is the only source of truth. Doing that is simply your belief that Christianity is "right" and Sikhism is "wrong".

To LC:
Muslims, Sihks, and Christians all believe in the same God, except that Muslims and Sihks don't believe He has a Son? Continue reading, and you will see that that statement is ilogical.
When Jesus was baptized, we read: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved SON, in whom I am well-pleased (Matthew 3:17).
The God of Christianity called Jesus His Son, but you claim Muslims and Sihks, who deny the Son, believe in that same God. If you truly believe Him, you believe what He says. He told you He has a Son. But you continue to say He doesn't have a Son. Therefore, how do you claim to believe Him when you won't believe what He says?
Will you argue that perhaps the voice was not God's voice? If so, who do you think was speaking from heaven? And don't forget the scripture that directly tells us God has a Son.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (St. John 3:16).
Only unless you answer the legitimate question above will your question about violence and Deuteronomy be addressed. Why? Because the Son of God is the foundation of the Christian faith. If you won't even accept the foundation, why offer you anything else?

But you see, you claim that the Scripture is the absolute truth, the word of God. Sikhs, Muslims, etc do not believe that, so your method of "proof" is invalid to them.
And in response to your last paragraph, it doesn't seem very charitable or Christian, to me, to deny a person struggling to find their path, an answer to a simple question.

You are the one who maintained that Muslims, Sikhs, and others believe in the God of Christianity, yet you refuse to accept the Word of that same God as proof that He has a Son. If you do not believe the Bible, you do not believe the God whose Spirit is behind the Bible, which declares: "ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God..." (2 Timothy 3:16). Inspiration means God is behind the scriptures that say He has a Son. Why do you want to attach yourself to a God whose Word you refuse to believe? No one else is denying you. You are denying yourself the opportunity to learn His Word, and come into the knowledge of truth. One thing you might want to keep in mind is that God sees every time any of us reject His truth. And He issues a very solemn warning: "Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts..." (Hebrews 3:7-8). Why? Because God sees every time He reaches out to us. He sees when we're genuinely confused, and He sees when we willfully reject His Son, the only salvation for the world...a very dangerous spiritual condition.

(If the comments close at ten, I would appreciate it if we could continue this conversation by email. I have put my real address in the email box this time.)
But it is perfectly possible to believe in God without believing that the Bible is His word. Yes, it SAYS in the Bible that the text is the word of God, but people choose not to believe that the same way they can choose to (not) believe anything else.
