Ayurveda Philosophy and Tips for Physical and Mental Health: Light Shed from the Christian Bible

Fundamentals of Ayurveda Philosophy
These are the things taught by the ayurveda system: The physical body of man is the material expression of divine intelligence. Man must realize that the wisdom of the universe and the wisdom of the self are one and the same. Acceptance and practice of ayurveda philosophy opens man's eyes to his natural divinity and to the meaning of life. This is why following ayurveda health tips for physical and mental health should be a way of life. It is said that there are East Indian yogis who have lived to be 400 years old following this system.
Man Is a God?
Does the Christian Bible shed any light on the teachings of ayurveda philosophy? Yes, it does. Few Christians would question the teaching that the physical body of man is the material expression of divine intelligence. After all, the Bible does say that the Lord created man in his image and after his likeness (Genesis 1:26). In fact, this truth is often used to lend support to the belief that man is inherently divine, but does not realize it. Just a little closer examination of this teaching from ayurveda philosophy unmasks what is truly being promoted--the falsehood that man is his own god. If Satan can succeed in getting people to believe this, he has succeeded in eliminating the need for God. Why would man need a god if he is his own god?
Ample scripture from the Christian Bible, however, puts things in right perspective--God's perspective. We read, "I have said, 'Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men..." (KJV, Psalm 82:6-7). We also read, "...Worship him (God) all ye gods" (Psalm 97:7).
Ayurveda philosophy and the Christian scriptures are in serious conflict. If man is divine and is his own god, why can't he keep himself from dying? Why must he worship God? Why does God say, "I am the Lord, and there is none else. There is no God beside me..." (Isaiah 45:5)?
Wisdom of the Universe and Wisdom of the Self
Ayurveda philosophy affirms that man should understand that the wisdom of the universe and the wisdom of the self are the same. But, in the Bible we read, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Some might say that man's thoughts can be raised to the level of the thoughts of God. But scripture teaches, "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been his counseller? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him are all things to whom be glory for ever. Amen" (Romans 11:33-36).
Ayurveda philosophy also sharply disagrees with the truth that, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge..." (Proverbs 1:7). And, we plainly read that Christ is the power and the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24).
Ayurveda Philosophy on the Meaning of Life
It is also said that the acceptance and practice of this system is to attain the meaning of life. The biblical book of Ecclesiastes centers around a search for the meaning of life and the conclusion reached. Solomon, the author of this book was the wisest mortal to live before the God-man Jesus was born. We read that Solomon declared, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter (of life): Fear God, and keep his commandments. For this is the whole duty of man" (Ecclesiastes 12:13).
Ayurveda philosophy is neither based on nor supported by the Christian Bible. In fact, it is in sharp disagreement with the word of God. Claims of Indian yogis enjoying a life span of 400 years are nothing more than lies that have never been and can never be proven. Consequently, ayurveda philosophy does not serve to offer any health tips for physical or mental health that are not already abundantly available in the holy scriptures.
