Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The number of people who are aware of the treasure of knowledge offered by the Bible on the subject of healthy eating tips is shamefully deficient. Those who identify themselves as Christians and Bible "scholars" very rarely prove that they possess any more knowledge on the topic than anyone else. Therefore, it is not to such people that those who will receive biblical instruction on healthy eating tips should look, but rather to the scriptures themselves and the Spirit behind the words.
Does the Bible really say anything about healthy diets, nutrition, cooking, and natural foods? Yes, it is like having access to a source of wisdom even greater than Solomon who was consulted by the famous Queen of Sheba. In which books of the Bible is information found on healthy eating tips? The wealth of biblical instruction in health appears in both Old and New Testament scripture from Genesis to Revelation. However, this information can easily be missed due to changes that have taken place in vocabulary, the use of generic words, and the tendency of the Bible to teach spiritual and natural truths at the same time. Nevertheless, with just a little effort and a genuine desire to learn, the messages begin to unfold before the eyes of the mind.
The scripture of Proverbs 10:26 reads, "As vinegar to the teeth and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him". In spite of the marvelous claims made about how beneficial apple cider vinegar is to man's health, no acidic food is good for the teeth. Of course this doesn't imply that acidic foods and beverages that are good for health such as lemonade made with a natural sweetener should be avoided. It simply reminds that overexposure to acidic foods irritates the protective enamel coating. One need not be a medical doctor to prove such a fact. The slightest cavity begins to ache when eating acidic foods such as pineapples and kiwi fruit.
Some "experts" on healthy eating are now discouraging the consumption of grains especially in light of the growing number of people being diagnosed with Celiac disease. People with this disease cannot tolerate wheat. However, very seldom is the entire story told. The "wheat" to which people are allergic or can't tolerate at all is a genetically modified food through hybridization by man, not by nature. Varieties of real wheat include spelt and kamut, 2 of the heirloom grains from antiquity that are still available today. The scripture of Ezekiel 4:9 instructs, "Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley and beans and lentiles and millet and fitches, and put them in one vessel and make thee bread thereof...."
Biblical teachings in the areas of Biology, Geology, Physics, Meteorology, Medicine, Mathematics, History, and healthy eating tips are amazingly accurate which gives credence to biblical scripture. What is more is that the people who existed in the Bible days usually lived well past one hundred years even after the flood. Abraham lived to the age of 175, his wife, Sarah was 127 years old when she died (Genesis 23:1, 25:7). Isaac lived to be 180 and his brother Jacob saw his 147th birthday(Genesis 35:28, 47:28). Joseph lived to the old age of 110 (Genesis 50:26). The list could go on and on. All of these people consumed real wheat and other whole grains.
This is only the very tip of the iceberg of information on healthy eating tips and healthy diets revealed in biblical scripture.
