Are There Demons of Suicide According to the Bible?
People commit suicide for various reasons. They might want to escape misery and hopelessness. They might want to cause distress to someone else, or they might believe that they can join a loved one who has passed on to the hereafter. Some people commit suicide because they are terminally ill and do not want to die in stages. Whatever the motivation may be, is that motivation the work of demons of suicide in all cases? Are there even such things as suicide demons?
The Christian Bible on the Work of Evil Spirits
Heavenly Manna is in perfect agreement with Christians who believe that the above mentioned reasons for a person killing himself are motivated by suicide demons. Nevertheless, we do not find scriptural support for believing that there are SPECIFIC demons of suicide--spirits who are dedicated to driving people to kill themselves. That does NOT mean that such entities do not exist. It simply means that we do not find biblical scripture that supports such specificity in the works of a particular type of evil spirit or group of spirits.
What is made very clear in the Christian Bible is that the ultimate goal of the evils spirits who are in service to Satan is to kill. The Lord Jesus made this very clear when he warned, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to KILL, and to destroy..." (KJV, St. John 10:10).
Unfortunately, what many people forget about is the fact that the archenemy of Christ seeks to kill both the natural and the spiritual body of man. He seeks utter destruction in order to prevent the doing of the will of God. He is behind theft of material things. He is behind stealing God-given freedom, hope, peace of mind, sanity, happiness, and anything else that will eventually lead to physical death and destruction.
When Jesus spoke of the thief (Satan) coming to kill, he did not refer to a specific group of demons. Again, this does NOT mean that there is not such a group of spirits. It's just that we don't find scriptural support for such a belief. What God's word tells us is that causing death is the very reason that the enemy comes. Who is the enemy? The enemy is every evil spirit that is in service to Satan.
Jesus said, "...I am come that they might have LIFE, and that they might have it more abundantly" (St. John 10:10). Demons of suicide, as they are called by some of our brethren in Christ, offer death as an escape, and a permanent "solution." But, remember that Jesus also warned that that same enemy is a liar (St. John 8:44).
