Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Idiopathic hyperhidrosis is the medical term for profuse perspiration that doesn't appear to have a cause. Among the causes of profuse perspiration are hyperthyroidism, tuberculosis, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), diseases of the liver, diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis, menopause, gout, and parasites. There are people, however, who don't suffer from any of these medical conditions, yet they battle profuse perspiration. It's always advisable to consult with a physician to ensure that excessive sweating isn't being caused by a serious medical problem that needs to be treated--even if you're going to rely on alternative medicine. Proper diagnosis is very important; yet, some people are afraid to hear bad news so they might choose to diagnose and treat themselves. Although their diagnosis just might be accurate, few people, especially residents of the United States, have sufficient knowledge of how to truly depend upon God's natural herbal medicines when dealing with anything more than a touch of the flu.
Sweat is produced by the filtration of fluid and salts from the bloodstream and serves to help regulate body temperature and eliminate toxins. The activity of sweat glands is stimulated by the sympathetic nervous system. Basically, at the endings of nerves, substances called neurotransmitters are produced; they are "carriers" of signals from nerve cells to other cells, sweat glands for example, so that a vital communications "highway" is created throughout the body. One of those neurotransmitters is acetylcholine and is at the ends of sympathetic nerve cells which stimulates sweat glands. It makes sense that too much acetylcholine could cause profuse perspiration.
Traditional medicine of course has an expensive treatment or a costly drug with many dangerous side effects to treat even the imaginary health problems of hypochondriacs. If you don't suffer from any of the aforementioned health conditions, why risk taking expensive and health-destroying medications? Anticholinergics, antihistamines, and some antidepressants are used to treat idiopathic hyperhidrosis, or profuse sweating that doesn't appear to have a cause. Why take any of them when there are effective all-natural remedies such as tomato juice that have proven to be effective down through the ages?
Based on true events, The Third Man by Angela Sheffield, brings the Bible up close and personal as the characters face real issues of life: Betrayal, deceit, romance, bitterness, anger against God, hopelessness, will power, perplexity, triumph, unforgiveness, mental illness, and the "Alcohol made me do it" excuse.
