Druid Wisdom for Druid Magic in Light of Wisdom from the Christian Bible
The Foundation of Druid Wisdom
In the book, The Practice of Celtic wisdom: Druid Magic, by Maya Magee Sutton Ph.D and Nicholas R. Manna, a summary of the principles of Druid wisdom is provided. According to the authors, "You are the magician! When you know who you are, where you have come from and why you are here, you can activate your magic. Druid magic works with our eternal Self, the part of us that knows all that there is. Druid magic comes from a true understanding of the powers of the eternal Self, our divine being that incarnates in many lives. The whole of this book is based on this premise."
Unmasking the Message in Celtic Wisdom
Basically, the author teaches that there are five things that must be known in order to practice Druid magic. They teach that man must know:
1. who he is
2. where he came from
3. why he is here (in existence on Earth)
4. that he is a divine being, an eternal Self
5. he incarnates from life to life
The Christian Bible on Druid Wisdom
What does the word of God say concerning Celtic wisdom, which is the foundation for practice of magic under this doctrine? Who does the Bible say that man is? We read, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..." (KJV, Gen. 1:26). So, the word of God reminds the believer that he is a creature of the Creator. This truth is repeated throughout the Old and New Testaments of the Christian Bible.
The scripture of Genesis 1:26 also answers the question of the origin of man; he comes from the Lord. The word of God says, "For of him (the Lord), and through him, and to him, are ALL things, to whom be glory for ever" (Rom. 11:36). These are only a few of the scriptures that declare to man that he comes from God, meaning that he has his origin in the creation power of the Lord.
The question of why man is here translates to nothing other than the age old question of the meaning of life. The wise king Solomon answered that question ages ago when, under the inspiration of God (2 Tim. 3:16), he wrote the answer in the book of Ecclesiastes. In this biblical book, Solomon raises and answers the question of the meaning of life. In fact, that is what most of the book is about. He wrote, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments, for this is the WHOLE duty of man" ((Ecclesiastes 12:13)).
The WHOLE duty of man is to live in obedience and fellowship with his Creator, the Lord. The fact that many neither will obey nor even desire fellowship with God does not erase the purpose for which they came into existence.
The Eternal Self According to Druid Wisdom
There is one particular principle of Druid magic that should be the most disturbing of all to the true believer in Jesus. In the Christian Bible, a capital G is used when speaking of God, while a lower case g is used when speaking of idol gods. The same is seen with the letter L for "Lord" in reference to God, and "l" for "lords" in reference to idols or men. It's interesting to note that the authors of the book on Celtic wisdom used a capital S when referring to the "eternal self" of man. They make it plain that they are teaching that man is a divine being. They teach that he is god.
Does not this principle of Druid magic sound strangely familiar to what the serpent told Eve in the garden of Eden? We read, "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods..." (Gen. 3:5).
They eyes of Adam and Eve were indeed opened--opened to the horrific consequences of attempting to be like God. All of man is their posterity. What is said of the "divinity" of man in the biblical scriptures? We read, "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men..." (Psalm. 82:6). A true god does not die. The living God of Israel is alive for all of eternity.
"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning, and the ending, saith the Lord, which IS, and WAS, and which IS TO COME, the Almighty" (Rev. 1:8). The very foundation of Druid wisdom is from the serpent; it is Satanic, because it attempts to exalt man above God. Therefore, the practice of Druid magic is an unholy, demonic practice.
