¿Qué tiene que ver conmigo? por Teófila Gottfried

Modern Day False Prophets: Warning from God's Word
Do False Prophets Really Exist?
Most people, educated or not, when they don't like the things for which another person stands, tend to lash out against them in any way that they can. Lashing out can include attempts to smear their reputation or cast doubt about their character. People who call themselves Christian preachers, teachers, ministers, and missionaries can and often do get labeled as modern day false prophets. Why? Who are those who are calling them such? Does this label have to do with their beliefs, teachings, doctrine, or morals? Are all who are labeled as false prophets unjustly persecuted? The focus of this article is not on the specifics that cause some Christians, leaders or otherwise, to be labeled as such, but rather on the truth that the Bible does give explicit and multiple warnings regarding the infiltration into the church of wolves in sheep's clothing. Believers can't beware of what they don't know exists.
Jesus Warned His Followers Against False Christs
The words of Christ concerning the great deception and danger of falsehood, particularly in New Testament times (we live in New Testament times) are clear and should cause true believers to learn and remember that not all that appears to be of God is of him. Jesus taught, "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ or there, believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall shew great signs and wonders insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold he is in the desert, go not forth, behold, he is in the secret chambers, believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the East and shineth even unto the West, so shall the coming of the Son of man be" (KJV, Matthew 24:23-27).
The scripture of Matthew is just one of many that gives warning to believers. While it pretty much focuses on not being deceived regarding the return of Christ, it is still revelation of the existence of false Christs. Biblical scripture also warns of the
satanic signs and wonders that are deceiving and will continue to deceive millions who consciously rejected the true Christ so they will believe a falsehood. Paul, an apostle of Christ wrote, "Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish because they received not the love of truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause, God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie, that they might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness" (II Thessalonians 2:9-12).
The Final Conclusion
Yes, the Bible does say that there are false Christs, prophets, and ministers who exercise power in order to deceive, who feign dedication to
Christ in order to persuade, who sound and appear genuine, but who are wolves in sheep's clothing.
Based on true events, The Third Man by Angela Sheffield, brings the Bible up close and personal as the characters face real issues of life: Betrayal, deceit, romance, bitterness, anger against God, hopelessness, will power, perplexity, triumph, unforgiveness, mental illness, and the "Alcohol made me do it" excuse.
