Is Astrology A Sin? Were Not The Wise Men Astrologers?
The Christian Bible, in no uncertain terms, condemns the practice of astrology. One such passage is the Scripture of Isaiah 47:13-14, which says, "...Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble. The fire shall burn them. They shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame..."

The question today is, "How could astrology be a sin when the wise men who took the baby Jesus gifts were astrologers? Weren't they? Didn't the Star of Bethlehem predict the birth of the Savior?"
The Star Of Bethlehem Is Not Related To Astrology
No. The Star of Bethlehem neither has anything at all to do with astrology, nor did it predict the Savior's birth. In the Scriptures we read, "...There came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea. For thus it is written by the prophet." (Matthew 2:1-5).
The Bible says the birth of Jesus was prophesied "by the prophet", not by a star or any other heavenly body, not even the Star of Bethlehem. It's very important that, as we read the Scriptures, we pay attention to all that is being said. Many tell crafty lies in order to deceive...even while quoting biblical Scripture. The Star of Bethlehem, though special, because it signified the birth of Jesus, served the purpose for which God made heavenly bodies: To tell us times and seasons. We read, "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night. And let them be for SIGNS and for SEASONS, and for days and years." (Genesis 2:14). Did not the Star of Bethlehem serve as a sign that the season for Christ to be born had arrive? Yes. It did exactly that.
