Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There are some all natural foods that appear to have substances in them that help to detoxify radiation poisoning (Michael Tierra, C.A., N.D., The Way of Herbs [New York, NY: Pocket Books, 1989],78-79). What are some of these foods? Are they readily available in the United States? How are they consumed?
Among the foods named that appear to be beneficial in recovering from radiation poisoning are: miso, the seaweeds, and some heirloom whole grains. Despite widespread efforts of health proponents, miso remains a strange food to many Americans. What is miso? Miso is fermented soya that usually exists in the form of a paste sold in most health food stores or the health foods section of many grocery stores. Although there are a decent number of recipes for miso soup available in books and on-line, few people enjoy the taste of them. Miso instant soup tends to be liked even less. It is normally sold in a small box containing from 2 to 4 individual envelopes in which there's a freeze-dried miso soup to which a cup of hot water is added to make an instant soup.
This is not the best form of miso to consume because the freeze-drying method may destroy some or all of the naturally occurring live cultures abundant in the fresh food. If there's an expiration date, it should be checked to ensure the product is not expired as is often the case with some health foods. Also, Mr. Tierra recommends purchasing the fresh paste whenever possible and reading labels for information about the live cultures present. Just as fresh yogurt contains live cultures, commonly referred to as "friendly flora", so does miso.
Those who are new to this food and/or wish to carry out an all natural detoxification after some form of radiation poisoning should look at all of the possible ways of consuming miso. If a recipe for miso soup is followed, the instructions should include a warning not to actually boil the fermented soya which will destroy the healthful bacteria. Usually the miso paste is added to a cup of hot water, mixed, and added to the pot which is allowed to very gently simmer for another 3 to 5 minutes. Those who are creative will try adding the dissolved miso in the same manner to a any soup of their choice such as chicken noodle or vegetable. The soup to which the paste is added doesn't have to specifically be made by following a miso soup recipe.
If the instant soup is the chosen option, again, it's important to read what the label says about the availability of live cultures. Those who are fighting radiation poisoning may even want to look into making their own miso in their homes. It's highly advisable to purchase only non-genetically modified soybeans to keep the "treatment" as natural and as safe as possible.
