Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
No mature or rational adult can deny that there are lazy, unintelligent, evil, and mentally ill elements in all cultures. What causes one or more of these negatives to stand out in a particular culture?
Let's take the first two, lazy and unintelligent, for instance. Being lazy, one will do as little as possible to get by. It could be a task that will benefit the individual such as his personal appearance. The lazy person will dress up in that new outfit, but skip the bath. The unintelligent person came to be that unintelligent by staying as far away as possible from books that increase knowledge. If the magazine or book is about romance, or teaches how to commit crime, then bring it on.
It's true that black women have it hard when it comes to looking their best sporting the hair that grew on their heads. Is that any reason to go to the extremes of weaving in lengths of whatever that stuff is down to their butts while your butt is so big you could share some with another person, and still have plenty?
When I see a black woman as described above, I have to wonder if she realizes that fat is not only unattractive, but unhealthy. I also wonder if she spent near as much money trying to lose the weight as she did sitting somewhere for somebody to weave into her hair.
If I were a betting person, I'd bet there isn't much education under that weave. If she works at all, it is most likely a menial job with no future. And she has no plans to change that. Yet, if all of this was said to her face, these would be fighting words even though she knows it's all true. Further, her little daughter will most likely imitate her.
Those of us who are rational know that this doesn't fit all black women. But I would venture to say that black women who do not go to extremes with this weave craze have a lot more going for them intellectually than big behinds, false hair and nails.
