The Futile War Against God's Word and the Spread of the Gospel
The Voice Of The Martyrs is one the most well known Christian organizations dedicated to serving the body of Christ suffering religious persecution in numerous nations where the Gospel is restricted. The late Richard Wurmbrand, founder of the VOM, spent many years in prison under horrific conditions for his faith in Christ. His true understanding of God's word is revealed in many of the teachings on the gospel that he left behind. Some of his writings are gaining more and more relevance to the American follower of Christ as the spirit of anti-Christ continues to rise and manifest itself here in the United States.
There are those who are attempting to have all references to God's word prevented from being made in spoken as well as written communication. Such an effort is a desperate one to escape hearing of God's goodness and of his severity--the gospel. However, attempts to silence, stifle and/or stamp out the sharing and preaching of God's word and/or the freedom his people are to have to serve him have been made for thousands of years down through history in all regions of the world and all of them have failed miserably.
A pharaoh of Egypt attempted to kill the deliverer of the Hebrew slaves by ordering the deaths of their infant males; but, Moses was raised in the palace from which the decree went forth. The fifth verse of the third chapter the Old Testament book of Esther recounts how a wicked man named Haman sought to destroy God's people, the Jews. He sought, particularly, the life of one Mordecai against whom he plotted and built gallows on which to have him hanged.
All seemed to be going his way, but before the final chapter was written, the scripture of Esther 7:10 records, "So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai...."
