¿Qué tiene que ver conmigo? por Teófila Gottfried

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world
Are Repressed Memories of Ritualistic Abuse from the Holy Spirit?
We've read the testimonies of salvation of people who identify themselves as survivors of ritualistic abuse in which we find descriptions of how the Holy Spirit deals with people—descriptions that do not line up with the description of His ways and character as revealed in the Bible.
Would God Torment Us Through Repressed Memories?
Some speak of enduring years of the Holy Spirit stirring up repressed memories of horrific ritualistic abuse in order to show them the impact of the abuse, and to heal them from the experience. Some say the memories continue to get worse. This is very inconsistent with what we read about how the Spirit dealt with others who suffered. We don't ever find that God caused them to remember, but rather to forget. Joseph, who suffered greatly at the hands of his family, said, “...God...hath made me FORGET all my toil, and all my father's house” (Gen. 41:51). We know Joseph remembered what they did to him. However, the healing process God used did not include remembering the experiences through tormenting visions. The power of God caused him to forget the impact, so the evil they did would have no power over him as he lived his life. What some survivors describe as years of being tormented with repressed memories brought by, according to them, the Spirit of God. This is in direct contrast with the fruit of the Spirit, which includes peace. Of course God can torment us, as He did in sending the evil spirit to torment Saul. But that was Saul's punishment, not a so-called form of healing.
And Paul said, “...Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” We're not being insensitive to their suffering. We simply do not find biblical support for claiming that God's Spirit first torments us in order to heal us. Horrific visions from God do not agree with the Bible, which says, “Whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report...think on these things” (Phil. 4:8). How can we be obedient to this, if God is tormenting us with horrific visions of suppressed memories?
Some who claim to be survivors of ritualistic abuse also say, “I believe there are many people out there who are walking with wonderful gifts from the Holy Spirit, but do not realize they are doing so. They are not in a community that can help foster those gifts or teach them how to use them.” They base their statement on 1 Corinthians 12:7, which at first glance, sounds like everyone has God-given spiritual gifts, whether converted to Christ or not. We know this is not true, because spiritual gifts are not talents. They are supernatural and totally controlled by the Holy Spirit--operational only in those who are in Jesus. First Corinthians begins with Paul speaking to brethren whom he says HAD BEEN Gentiles--thus two spiritual states: part of the body of Christ, or a Gentile who's not of the body. From Genesis to Revelation we do not know of a single instance when any of the spiritual gifts in Corinthians were present in an unbeliever. Unlike God-given natural gifts (talents) and callings, which don't require repentance, spiritual gifts do. If God gave us a beautiful singing voice, or called us to be a writer, we can do those things without repenting, and without the operation of His Spirit. However, no one performs any of the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians without the Spirit. After all, one of those gifts is the working of miracles. No part of the Bible indicates that such a power lies dormant in any of us as some claim when they say, “It was not until I began truly giving my life over to Christ, every part of my being that I possibly could, that I began to see the fruit of these gifts again. It was not that they were gone or lost; I don’t believe that ever happens.”
According to them, we can foster these dormant gifts, and be taught how to use them. How can we be taught how to perform miracles? There's nothing to learn. God performs a miracle, or He doesn't, period. Fostering and learning to use spiritual gifts has for many years been a ploy used by practitioners of magic who want to align themselves with God's power and Christianity.
Finally, we find what one individual said about a particular gentleman very disturbing. That individual writes, “He did not realize that he was tapping into the Holy Spirit and the Second Heaven at the same time.” This individual identifies the second heaven as the realm of darkness. That's tantamount to saying he was worshiping God and spirits of darkness at the same time. How can that be when the Bible asks us, “What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? and what concord hath Christ with Belial...?”
If you are a survivor of ritualistic child abuse who is seeking deliverance and healing, beware of the wolves out there in sheep's clothing. They encourage stirring up repressed memories of the ritualistic abuse. They speak of harnessing angelic power and/or tapping into spiritual gifts. They do not emphasize the divinity of Jesus, if they mention it at all. These are just some of the warning signs that you are not dealing with a true follower of the Son of God...though they might cite one biblical scripture after another.
Based on true events, The Third Man by Angela Sheffield, brings the Bible up close and personal as the characters face real issues of life: Betrayal, deceit, romance, bitterness, anger against God, hopelessness, will power, perplexity, triumph, unforgiveness, mental illness, and the "Alcohol made me do it" excuse.
