Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Quite a few years back a Freemason approached me and said, "You know, us Masons are like you Christians. We believe in the same things: peace, harmony in the world, brotherly love, etc." Basically, he wanted to convince me that believers in Jesus of Nazareth and those who hold the beliefs of free masonry think alike. Is that true? Indeed, there are Christians who would answer, "yes" to that question while some Christians would say, "no". Is it a matter of personal opinion, or is there a way to know for sure? Yes, there is. By just comparing some of the beliefs of the free masons with teachings from the Christian Bible, each person can see the sharp difference for himself.
Here is a short list of some free masonry beliefs along with the biblical scriptures that reveal the error in them. Keep in mind that the purpose of the article is to bring to light the truth that Freemasonry is not Christianity--not at all.
Masonic Belief: The goal of the Masons is to establish a utopia by ushering in freedom, tolerance, brotherhood, and peace.
The Bible Says that Jesus Said: "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household" (Matthew 10:34-36).

Belief of Free Masonry: The fundamentals of moral truth are based on the conscience of the masons themselves and on the ethical rudiments of society.
The Bible says, "...Lean not unto thy own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5).
"There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord" (Proverbs 21:30).
===
Masonic Belief: All of mankind is the son of God, not just Christians. To think that only Christians are the sons of God who will inherit eternal life is to be narrow-minded.
The Christian Bible Says, "But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to BECOME the sons of God..." (St. John 1:12). If everyone were the son of God, why does the scripture say that you have to receive power to BECOME a son or daughter of God?
"Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it" (Matthew 7:14).
"Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me, for I proceeded forth and came from God, neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him..." (St. John 8:42).
===
Masonic Belief: The Masons decide who to accept as members according to their criteria of what makes a good candidate for Freemasonry.
The Bible Says, "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. And, God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty, and the base (lowly) things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are." (1 Corinthians 1:27-28).
===
Belief of the Masons: Masonic truth and light lead to God without one having to believe or have faith in Jesus, the Son of God, as Lord and personal Savior.
The Christian Bible Says: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (St. John 14:6).
Based on true events, The Third Man by Angela Sheffield, brings the Bible up close and personal as the characters face real issues of life: Betrayal, deceit, romance, bitterness, anger against God, hopelessness, will power, perplexity, triumph, unforgiveness, mental illness, and the "Alcohol made me do it" excuse.
