¿Qué tiene que ver conmigo? por Teófila Gottfried

It Is Not Good that Man Should Be Alone: The Bible on Relationships
Let's never forget that the Lord said to Adam, "...It is not good that man should be alone. I will make him a help meet for him" (Genesis 2:18). This verse is one of many that give us to know the importance that God gives to relationships. Verse 21 tells us that the Lord created a whole other person, Eve, so that Adam would not be alone. That is how important it is to have meaningful relationships with others. Unfortunately, many Christians like to preach at others about how to live happily without a father, a help meet, friends, etc. What's more is that these preachers have such relationships in their own lives. How is it that they dare tell others that they don't need the same relationships that they themselves are enjoying?
God Is All We Need
"He'll be our father, our husband, brother, friend, our everything." Do those words sound familiar? They come from the mouth of some Christians as they emphasize how important it is for God to dwell in our hearts. It's true that the Bible does say that the Lord is our Father, and that his Son, Jesus, is our Brother, and Friend. So, are we to teach people that they don't need friendships, their parents, a wife/husband, a relationship with their siblings (if they have any and both sides want to get along)? No, we should not say what God has not said. The Lord said, "It is NOT good that man should be alone."
Remember that Adam was in paradise. His heart was full of the Spirit of God. There was no sin in the world. But, his Creator, the one who designed his body, soul, and spirit, upon looking at him, said, "It is not good that man should be alone." If all that Adam needed was a perfect relationship with the Lord, something he already had, why did God say that it was not good for him to be alone? The Lord saw that Adam needed another person in addition to the person of His Holy Spirit that dwelled in his heart.
And, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up." God Himself, being all powerful can lift up the one who falls. But, instead of doing that, he uses people, Christians as well as non-Christians. Having God does not mean that we don't need people because that is how the Creator ordered things to be. Again, he said, "It is not good that man should be alone." God is the author of relationships. To say that we don't need relationships once we have learned to lean on the Lord is to contradict the Lord's word. In fact, be suspicious of the motives of those who say such things. It may be that they do not want you to enjoy the relationships that the Lord wants to give you.
Let's be very careful in accepting as biblical the teachings preached by Christians, though they might be leaders, that are not in agreement with the word of God.
Based on true events, The Third Man by Angela Sheffield, brings the Bible up close and personal as the characters face real issues of life: Betrayal, deceit, romance, bitterness, anger against God, hopelessness, will power, perplexity, triumph, unforgiveness, mental illness, and the "Alcohol made me do it" excuse.
