The Real Id Card: Threat of Centralization?
What Is the Real ID Card?
The simple definition of the Real ID card is: a national identification card indicating that a person is truly who they are on a state and federal level. Some airport and airline officials in states such as Iowa are encouraging, and might some day soon, require all passengers to possess a Real ID card. They say that such a decision would be fueled by a deep concern for the safety of the passengers in light of the terrorist threats that prevail.
Opposition to the National ID Card
Why would some people, such as members of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), object to it becoming mandatory to have a Real ID card? There are a number of very valid reasons to be extremely leery of a move away from a state issued driver licensed to a national ID card.
First, terrorists have ways of being issued any identification they truly desire with inside help obtained through highly secret connections. This means that honest people of America will be the ones who are hassled, as is usually the case, in a so-called attempt to deter the threat of violence at the hands of terrorists or criminals of any sort. Second, the Real Id card can justifiably be viewed as a very important move towards centralization.
This fact about centralization has caused some people to even suspect that the card could be some form of a precursor to the mark of the beast in the Bible. The biblical scripture of Revelation 13:16-17 reads, "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads. And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
The scripture says that the beast causeth ALL, everybody in the world to take his mark or be denied the right to buy and sell. Business owners sell to earn a living; and people buy food. So, we see the taking away of things needed for survival because of refusal to take the mark. Looking at things logically, how in the world would it be possible to keep track of every single person on Earth without the power of centralization? It probably would never be possible. Is this why there is a move toward cloud computing, which is nothing less than centralization of business transactions and more?
As we see that the people in the scripture who will not take the mark of the beast are denied the right to buy and sell, let's remember that we are on the brink of the threat of not being able to travel without having a Real ID card, though we have a valid state license and/or passport. Travel often can be essential and even a matter of life and death.
