The Christian Bible on Angel Wisdom

Angel Wisdom According to the Angels

Ms. Doreen Virtue in her book on angel therapy states that, "Angels have wonderful gifts from God. Their messages help us heal our beliefs and thoughts. They say, 'Give everything to us and we will give it to the light of God where love purifies all seeming problems!'" Should the Christian believer automatically believe everything he or she hears or reads about the spirit realm because it sounds good or sounds Christian, or even comes from what is considered a reputable source? No. God's word tells the believer to, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good" (KJV, I Thessalonians 5:21). The same scripture taken from the Living Bible Paraphrased reads, "But test everything that is said to be sure it is true, and if it is, then accept it."

This simple, but extremely important piece of advice and warning applies to everything, including what we are told about angel wisdom. To prove or test all things, we must compare them to the word of God because, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine (what we believe), for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (II Timothy 3:16). It's very simple to keep this in mind as we walk with Jesus. Concerning the question at hand about angel wisdom, we ask: Is it true that angels help us to heal our beliefs and thoughts? Are we supposed to give everything to them and let them give it to the light of God for us? Again, what does the Christian Bible say about believing these things?

There Are Two Sources of Wisdom

One very important thing to remember is that God's word warns that there are two sources of spiritual wisdom: the wisdom of Satan and the wisdom of God. Yes, Satan has wisdom too. There is a wisdom of the world, also known as the wisdom of the flesh as well as by other names; and there is the wisdom of God. The "world" and the "flesh" is used throughout scripture to refer to things that are not of God and that are in opposition to his righteousness. This is why we read things like, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit" (Romans 8:1). We also read, "...If ye live after (according to) the flesh, ye shall die..." (Romans 8:13). Finally, we are reminded that, "...Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith" (I John 5:4).

When answering the question of whether the aforementioned statements on angel wisdom are true in light of the Christian Bible, we keep in mind the biblical use of words like "flesh" and "world" when we read what it has to say about wisdom, and we quickly learn that there are two sources of wisdom.

The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil: Another Source of Wisdom

The scripture James 1:5 instructs, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." Obviously, God is a source of wisdom. However, Satan is also a source of wisdom; he is the wisdom of the flesh and of the world--a wisdom that is not praised in biblical scripture. Wisdom is knowledge. Did not God prohibit Adam from eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:17)? Yes, he did. In fact, he warned Adam of the punishment of death for eating from a source of knowledge that he had prohibited. The article, "The Story of Adam and Eve: Did Satan Really Tell a Lie in the Garden of Eden?" explains what was really represented in the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The apostle Paul said, "Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought. But we speak the wisdom of God" (I Corinthians 2:6-7). Again, it is made plain to us that there are two sources of wisdom: one is God and the other is not; therefore, it is prohibited.

Wisdom Can Be Tested

We know that God has truly delivered messages to his people through his angels as we see in biblical scripture. However, not all angels are in service to God; angelic beings in service to Satan also are called angels (Revelation 12:7). Therefore, not every one of them is delivering wisdom from the God of heaven. We can know when angel wisdom is holy and when it is unholy by whether it agrees or disagrees with God's word that never changes.

Does angel wisdom help people to heal their thoughts and beliefs? There is not one single scripture in the Christian Bible that speaks of angel wisdom healing the beliefs and thoughts of any of God's people. The Lord, in no roundabout way, tells his people that he is their Healer. His words says:

...I am the Lord that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26).

Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases (Psalm 103:2-3).

Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised" (Luke 4:18).

Jesus said he's the one who heals, who liberates, and who restores sight to the blind. We are even told that all the promises of God are in him (2 Corinthians 1:20). Nothing at all is said about healing through angel wisdom or through the messages of angels. Why has emphasis been completely removed from seeking Jesus and placed on seeking angel wisdom? This is not in agreement with God's word. Could it be that Jesus heals through messages from angels? If so, why doesn't the Bible mention anything about this, especially considering that it is the Christian believer's guide book? Also, this would make the angels a mediator between God and man. Again, there's a huge conflict with God's word in such a belief because we read that, "...There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (I Timothy 2:5).
